This-That + is + a/an + singular
  • In this chapter no-6, we have discussed where to use 'This' and 'That' with singular nouns.
  • 'This' is used to indicate one which/who is very near or around us
  • while 'That' is used to demonstrate on which/who is little bit far away but can be seen or is visible.
  • This is a pen. (If a pen is nearby)
  • That is a pen. (If a pen i little bit far away)
