Simple Past Tense is used ….
To
indicate any action happened in the past at any time.
Ex.
- She sent me a message before sometimes.
- All the birds flew away last year.
- Sir checked home work and started teaching.
- We saw a new movie yesterday.
To
explain hobbies and habits of the past.(but stopped now.)
Ex.
- In my childhood, I didn’t take tea.(means not used to take)
- He played cricket and volleyball during hi schooling.
To
indicate/show/present the SEREIS of ACTIONS.
Ex.
- Ram-Laxman-Seeta went in the forest. They built a hut and started living there. Rawan kidnapped Seeta from the hut. Ram & Laxam invaded on Lanka and freed Seeta.
To
mention some facts of the past.
Ex.
- A huge banyan tree stood here before.
- The kings didn’t build Rome in a day.
- In the beginning, the earth moved faster than now.
