Negative of The Simple Present Tense is formed with the
help of
do + not (don’t) & does + not (doesn’t)
- ‘do not’ or ‘does not’ is used soon after the Subject of the sentence.
- ‘do not’ follows I-We-You-The & Plural Nouns.
- while, ‘does not’ follows He-She-It & Singular Noun.
Thus,
I-We-You-They-Plurals +
do not/don’t + v-1 + other words.
- I do not/don’t hate anybody.
- We do not/don’t live here.
- You do not/don’t love English.
- They do not/don’t come regularly.
- Many villagers do not/don’t know even their birthdays.
He-She-It-Singular + does
not/doesn’t + v-1 + other words.
- He does not/doesn’t get up early on every Sunday.
- She does not/doesn’t cook at night.
- It does not/doesn’t fly during a day.
- Sir does not/doesn’t teach maths.
