Passive Voice of Simple Present Tense English Grammar


Change from Active Voice to Passive Voice.

Active Voice Pattern-General
  • Subject + Verb + Object + other words.
Passive Voice Pattern-General
  • Object + Verb + by Subject + other words.
Passive Voice of Simple Present Tense

PV of Simple Present Tense - Affirmative

Active: I teach English.
Passive: English is taught by me.

Changes:
  1. Put the object first.
  2. then am/is/are + V-3
  3. then 'by + object form of Subject'
PV of Simple Present Tense - Negative

Active: I don't teach English.
Passive: English isn't taught by me.

Changes:
  1. Put the object first.
  2. then am/is/are + not + V-3 (do or does is removed)
  3. then 'by + object form of Subject'
PV of Simple Present Tense - Interrogative

Active: Do I teach English ?
Passive: Is English taught by me ?

Changes:
  1. Am-Is-Are (as per the new subject)
  2. then put the object
  3. then V-3 (Do or Does is removed)
  4. then 'by + object form of Subject'
